Erin and Mark went with a football motif for their pregnancy. Mark was the owner, Erin was the quarterback and the baby was the ball. Pretty cool idea. They even made shirts for themselves with their position on the back. Anyway, I'm going with less words and more photos....

These guys represent my first set of maternity shots. I was very thankful to have been asked to do them and I really enjoyed not only the photo shoot but also getting to know them as a couple and to meet beautiful Malia! Obviously, we did 2 separate shoots and I just combined them into one large-ish post.

DeAnna & Jarin

DeAnna & Jarin had there wedding on 1/1/11. Pretty cool, huh? Cool? Actually, it was freezing cold. Regardless, everyone made it a fantastic experience, (the outdoor heater was a life saver). They have amazing friends and family that made the day so wonderful and very heart-felt. The ceremony was very meaningful and had some absolutely wonderful moments that I will remember forever. Thank you.

Colin portraits

I was fortunate to have been asked to do portraits for Colin as a Christmas gift to his parents. He showed up with a few of his favorite items and we got to work in the studio. Through the course of the photo shoot I was able to get to know Colin and we had fun working together in the studio. He had some ideas of his own that we worked off of and it all made for a wonderful photo shoot. The icing on the cake was learning how much his parents loved the photos. That's what its all about.

The first thing to mention about this wedding was the weather; Steady rain all day. But, that didn't dampen, (pun intended), anyone's spirits. They just pulled out their umbrellas and made a great wedding day out of it. They were right on the beach in Gig Harbor complete with campfires for s'mores in the evening. Again, another down to earth couple who were a lot of fun to work with and be around.

These guys were a lot of fun to be around and to shoot. And, Ricky was very much into the fisheye lens which was cool since it afforded me a bit more creative license. They are a very down to earth and personable couple which made the day a pleasure to be a part of.

Helen & Jerry

I'm gonna just say it; Helen and Jerry are an inspiring and amazing couple. This is their 50th wedding anniversary where they renewed their wedding vows. They had a great ceremony which included a lot of moving stories from their early years together. It really painted a picture of their personalities and their devotion to one another. And, they had their original wedding rings, their original marriage certificate, and her wedding dress from 50 years ago, (which Helen hand made, by the way). On a personal level, it really touched me and taught me a lot about commitment and marriage. I was truly honored to share their glorious day.

Genessa & Phil

Genessa and Phil had a country-style wedding at John's Place in Duvall. I went to school with Genessa and had run into her at a previous wedding, (Heather & Tommy). Small world, right? I was happy to hear that Genessa wanted me to do her wedding. Because it was such a fun wedding I was able to get some great shots that captured the essence of their day. Again, I was fortunate to work for a great bride and groom and be around their wonderful friends and families.

Heather is the daughter of a guy I used to work with at Coca-Cola so I was excited when he called and asked if I could shoot his daughter's wedding. Their wedding took place in Duvall on a nice and beautiful day. And, isn't their daughter just absolutely adorable?

In September I was privileged to have been the photographer for Desiree & John's wedding. What a gracious and warm couple. Their wedding was in Snohomish at a cozy venue called The Antheia Ballroom. Beautiful kids, great friends and families, and a heartfelt ceremony. who could ask for more?

Robin & Randy

Robin and Randy had the perfect day for a wedding; clear skies, beautiful location overlooking the ocean, and a nice cool breeze. The ceremony was at Richmond Beach Park and was very personal and relaxed at the same time. They had a bagpipe band and the most amazing gelato cake. Fantastic. And these two were definitely in love. It truely was a lot of fun working for them.

I was honored to have been asked to shoot Jenny and Kurtis' wedding. What a great couple and just being around them you can tell how much they love each other. It was a toasty day for a wedding but the boys somehow managed to hole up in the only air conditioned room at the venue, (nice work boys). Despite the heat it was a beautiful day for a wedding at a beautiful venue. Check it out.....

Hummingbird

The other day, my daughter and I were watching our resident hummingbird patrol "her" garden. Apparently, that was her territory because she chased off any bird that came nearby. She knew I was there and couldn't have cared less. I think she thought she would chase me off as well if I got too close. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to try and capture her doing her thing. Now, the photos show that I'm no Art Wolfe, but it was fun just to play around and shoot.

Naomi & Sabrina's Birthday Party

I was fortunate enough to be asked by Sunny to shoot her two daughter's birthday party. Sunny and her family are extremely warm and generous and are a lot of fun to work with, (please see former post). Because the weather forecast was not favorable she asked for some studio shots of the girls and the entire family. But, the weather did hold and we zipped up to Bellevue for the outdoor party. The kids loved the bouncy house, the food was excellent, the weather was fantastic, and the cakes were amazing. (Sunny is the person you want to ask if you are looking for a cake for an event). Anyway, hope you like the shots. I played around with some "antique-style" images, which I just love. Thanks for taking the time to view the images.

Anderson Family Portraits

Greg, a friend of mine from jiu-jitsu class, asked if I would do some portraits for his family. I was happy to have been given the opportunity as I had seen his beautiful daughter, Cylar, before and was excited to get some shots of her in the studio. We had a beautiful day to shoot inside and out and the kids hung in there long enough to get some great shots.

Well, today I was thinking how helpful it would be to have a blog that I could update and share recent photos of portraits, weddings and other images. Then, I realized that I made a blog page over a year ago, (as is evident by my last post dated over a year ago). So, I have decided to begin posting on a somewhat routine basis.

Shooting my kids is not easy. They definitely don't like to sit too long so I was very thankful to just get the opportunity to shoot them let alone a great shot. Here is the keeper from the shoot....
